We’re writing with news of the latest successful Public Health online training initiative. It’s in full operation and training thousands of Public Health managers, staff, first responders and volunteers right now. The project is a collaboration between the Florida Department of Health and National Training Systems, a private company and the developer of the FlexTraining Total E-Learning Solution™.
The on-demand training has been deployed for nearly 400 separate courses. The wide variety of topics includes Healthy Lifestyles, Domestic Violence, Immunization, Parenting,, Second-Hand Smoke, Radiological Emergencies and Violence in the Workplace.
Administrative subjects are also being addressed, such as Supervisor Training, Computer Usage, HMS Eligibility, WIC Modules, Terrorism Preparation and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). To date, over 25,000 separate enrollments have been recorded.
The Department of Health has designated nearly 200 course authors, instructors and managers to utilize the system for ongoing course development and reporting. The system also provides optional progress tracking, with 29 distinct Skill Groups currently defined according to the needs of specific online learners.
Courses were developed by utilizing existing web sites, PowerPoint slideshows, and documents. In the next phase, learning material will also be created from scratch using the FlexTraining built-in authoring tools. Quality is maintained through a feedback process, with more than 5000 course evaluations having been completed by online learners so far.
If you would like to hear more about how easily and cost-effectively you can deploy your own custom Public Health training system, please give me a call or an e-mail. I’ll be happy to provide a personal demonstration, and answer any questions you might have.
